i love my first impression of madrid in 2012. still fond.
arrived in the early morning. too early to check in. too early for anything but a stroll to discover madrid as it hazily woke up.
strolling, an intentional wandering. wanting to get lost. no exact routes, or familar street names. strolled long enough to hear stir and whirrs of street sweeping noises fade out while the early morning commute bubbles up from the subway stops. the morning got warmer as shop windows lit up, doors, however, still firmly locked.
still too early. bliss.
